Meaning of Renown

Renown speaks of what is known about you. The card promises no fame: it sheds light on how a person is perceived, on the trace their actions leave, on the trust their name inspires in a given circle, whether small or large.

In the Jupiter series, which likes breadth, it invites you to own what you bring. Talking about your work, showing an accomplishment, accepting a compliment: visibility then becomes a way to serve, not a goal in itself.

Its downside is dependence on others’ gaze: measuring your worth by reactions, or arranging your image to the point of drifting from what you really think.

Renown in your life

In love

In a relationship, Renown speaks of how the bond shows itself to others: shared pride, and discretion to respect together.

At work

In a professional setting, the card highlights professional reputation: making a result known, keeping your commitments, tending your public word.

Renown in a reading

In its position

Renown puts the question under the eyes of others: what people will say matters, but should not decide for you.

Jupiter series

Breadth: support, wisdom, social radiance, luck.

Support, Beauty, Inheritance, Wisdom, Chance, Happiness

The Belline cards help you look at a situation from another angle: they predict nothing, and the choice remains yours.

Its place in the deck

Renown carries number 43 and is filed under Jupiter, which ancient astrology links to breadth and recognition. In its series it keeps company with Support, Beauty, Inheritance, Wisdom, Chance, and Happiness. Versana reads it as an invitation to make visible what deserves to be, without promising anything.

What do you want people to remember about you, and do your actions already say it?

A gesture

Where the sources disagree

  • Tone of the cards: A ranking set by the site from the name of each card, with no old source: 21 supportive cards, 14 demanding, 18 neutral. It gives the tone of a reading, never an answer or a yes or no.
  • Dominant series: When one planet comes up more often than the others in a reading (at least two cards), its series colors the interpretation. A modern reading rule, described by several guides; cards outside the series are not part of the count.
  • Images of the cards: The drawings attributed to the mage Edmond (died 1881) are old, but the cards published since 1961 and the Mucem photographs are not under a free license. The site draws its own pictograms and reproduces no card.
