Draw one rune for advice, or three to read a situation: the interpretation starts with what the reading means for you.

A modern practice: a rune whose shape changes when turned over has a one-in-two chance of coming up reversed. The nine symmetrical runes stay upright.

How is the reading done?

The 24 runes are shuffled in your browser, like a bag being shaken, then drawn without replacement. If you check “Read reversals,” each rune whose shape turns upside down has a one-in-two chance of coming up reversed; the nine symmetrical runes stay upright.

The meaning sentence comes from the central rune: the only rune drawn, or the one in the “What is at work” position. The runes’ families and their orientation set the tone of the whole.

Frequently asked questions: rune reading

How many runes should I draw?

One rune is enough for brief advice, three to look at a situation from several angles. Start with a single rune if you are a beginner: it is simpler to read and fits in one sentence.

Can I redo a reading until I get a rune I like?

Nothing forbids it, but the reading then loses its point: it is there to show you what you had not considered. Ask a question, draw once, then let the reading rest.

What should I do with a reversed rune?

In the modern reading, the same force appears held back or restrained. It is an option of the reading, absent from the ancient sources: uncheck it if you prefer to read upright only.

Is my question saved?

No. No question is asked or sent: you can keep it to yourself, the reading does not need to know it. The shuffle stays on your device.
