Mirror hours: meaning of all 50 times (11:11, 22:22)
A mirror hour like 21:21 repeats its digits: each page gives the angel, the tarot card, the message read in it, and the calculation.

Mirror hours
A mirror hour shows the same number twice: the minutes copy the hour exactly. 07:07, 15:15, and 23:23 are examples. On a 24-hour clock there are exactly 24 of them, one per hour, from 00:00 to 23:23. Three of them go further, since all four of their digits are identical: 00:00, 11:11, and 22:22. They are sometimes called quadruple. The mirror shape is easy to read: both halves have the same value, and the sum of the four digits is always double that of one half. It is the best-known family, the one people cite first when they talk about times that “speak.”

Reversed hours
A reversed hour reads the same in both directions: the minutes take the digits of the hour in the opposite order, like 12:21 or 14:41. There are 13 of them: 01:10, 02:20, 03:30, 04:40, 05:50, 10:01, 12:21, 13:31, 14:41, 15:51, 20:02, 21:12, and 23:32. Why so few? Because the reversal has to give possible minutes. 16:61, 17:71, or 19:91 do not exist, since an hour has only 60 minutes. The palindromes 00:00, 11:11, and 22:22 are filed with the mirror hours. Six of them come in pairs of twins: 12:21 and 21:12, for example, swap the hour and the minutes.

Triple hours
Several definitions are in circulation. We keep the most widespread one: a time is triple when the last digit of the hour is repeated in both digits of the minutes, which lines up three identical digits, like 02:22 or 14:44. This rule gives 13 times: 01:11, 02:22, 03:33, 04:44, 05:55, 10:00, 12:22, 13:33, 14:44, 15:55, 20:00, 21:11, and 23:33. Times like 06:66 or 17:77 are impossible. As for 00:00, 11:11, and 22:22, which line up four digits, they are classed among the mirror hours and called quadruple.

What is a mirror hour?
You look at your phone and it shows 21:21. Or 14:41. Or 02:22, in the middle of the night. Your eye stops, and a question comes: do these digits that answer each other mean anything? These moments are called mirror hours, and more broadly notable times: times whose digits repeat, reverse, or double. Out of a day’s 1,440 minutes, only about fifty have this shape. For many readers, they carry a message: the guardian angel tradition, tarot, and various spiritual currents each read something into them, and each page reports these readings.
Numerology adds its calculation, using the same method as our reports: you add up the digits, reduce the total, and end up with a number whose meaning is explained on its own page. The calculation is shown step by step so that you can redo it yourself, and it is the same for every time. Each page then describes what the shape of the time tells: its two halves, the digits that make it up, the moment of the day when it falls.
Each page also offers questions to ask yourself about relationships and work, then a simple gesture if the time keeps coming back. None of this announces the future. A notable time is a pause point in the day; what you do with it is up to you. The sections that follow present the three families of times, our calculation, and the reason why some times catch the eye more than others.
A remarkable time is a pause in the day, not an announcement: what you make of it is up to you. Our editorial line.

Frequently asked questions about mirror hours
How many mirror hours are there?
A 24-hour clock has 24 mirror hours, from 00:00 to 23:23, where the minutes repeat the hour exactly. If you add the 13 reversed hours, like 12:21, and the 13 triple hours, like 02:22, you get 50 notable times in a day. Each has its own page on this site, with its detailed calculation.
What is the difference between a mirror hour and a reversed hour?
A mirror hour repeats the same number twice, in the same order: 15:15. A reversed hour takes the digits of the hour backward: 15:51. Both are read with the same calculation, but the shape differs: the mirror speaks of repetition, the reversed one of a round trip between two faces of the same situation. Six reversed hours form three pairs of twins, like 12:21 and 21:12.
Are mirror hours linked to angels?
A tradition links them. Works on angelology divide the day among the 72 guardian angels of the Kabbalah, each watching over twenty minutes: every mirror hour therefore falls within the slot of one of them, and some people read a message from that angel in it. Each page indicates this angel, as well as the Major Arcana card numbered like the hour when there is one (none for 00:00 and 23:00), as reported readings. Numerology adds its own grid: the addition of the digits, the number obtained, and its meaning. None of these readings announces an event; it is up to you to decide which meaning speaks to you.
How do you calculate a mirror hour?
Add up the four digits displayed, then bring the sum down to a single digit; only 11, 22, and 33 are kept as they are. Example: 21:21 gives 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 6. Another example: 18:18 gives 1 + 8 + 1 + 8 = 18, then 1 + 8 = 9. You can also read each half separately: here, two 18s, which is two 9s. Each of the 50 times has its page, with this calculation in detail; for any other number, the angel number calculator does the operation.
Is seeing a mirror hour a sign?
For many people, yes: a sign in Jung’s sense, a coincidence that takes on meaning, and mirror hour traditions read a message in it. It is never an announcement, however: seeing 11:11 does not predict an encounter or a change. The fact that a time stops you also says something about your attention at that moment. Use it as a reminder: what were you thinking about, what is on your mind? The number obtained then offers an angle for reflecting on it, never deciding in your place.
What if my screen shows the time in 12-hour format?
Our pages reason in 24-hour time. On a 12-hour display, 1:01 can mean 01:01 or 13:01, and only the first is a mirror hour. You can still read the page for the digits you saw, since they are what caught your eye: the calculation stays the same. However, what it says about the time of day, the night for 01:01, does not apply if you saw it in the afternoon.
What is a triple hour?
It is a time where three identical digits follow one another: the minutes double the units digit of the hour, which gives 02:22 or 14:44. We follow the most common rule, which counts 13 of them, from 01:11 to 23:33. Some sites list more by widening the definition; ours keeps only times that exist on a clock. The three times with four identical digits (00:00, 11:11, 22:22) are classed with the mirror hours.
Are mirror hours bad luck?
No. A time brings neither luck nor misfortune, and warns of nothing. The traditions that lend a message to these times see in it mostly a call to pay attention, and numerology assigns a bad fate to no number. Even 13:13, which recalls the 13 of superstitions, is read through its calculation: 1 + 3 + 1 + 3 = 8, the number of concrete action. If a time worries you, its page says what people read in it, without announcing anything.
What is the most powerful mirror hour?
None is more so than another. 11:11 is the best known and the most searched: its four identical digits jump out, and tradition reads a message of awakening in it. But every time is read with the same method, and the meaning of a time does not depend on its fame. The one that matters, for you, is the one that stops you at a moment when a question is on your mind.
Why do I always see the same time?
Two readings coexist. On the symbolic side, a time that returns is a sign: Jung spoke of synchronicity, and the guardian angel tradition hears a message in it. For the reading based on attention, a time noticed once is then watched for, while ordinary times are forgotten immediately. Neither excludes the other. Note what was on your mind when the time appeared: the question is often there.
