Number meanings in numerology: 1 to 9, 11, 22, 33
From 1 to 9, each number has its own character; 11, 22, and 33, the master numbers, are more demanding forms of them. Each page explains the number, its strengths and pitfalls, in love and at work.

Digit or number?
A digit is written, from 0 to 9; a number is counted. Numerology adds up digits and keeps only one at the end of the calculation, except 11, 22, and 33, kept as they are.
What about 0?
It is used to write 10 or 2000, then disappears as soon as you add. You only meet it in a few specific positions, such as a challenge or a bridge with no gap.
The angel numbers
Added up and reduced, they lead back to one of the twelve numbers, except 000 and 0000, whose sum is 0. All about angel numbers.
Frequently asked questions about number meanings
What do numbers mean in numerology?
Each number from 1 to 9 sums up a way of being: 1 drive, 2 harmony, 3 expression, 4 building, 5 movement, 6 care, 7 inquiry, 8 concrete action, 9 openness. The meaning then becomes more precise depending on where the number appears: date of birth, name, year.
Why aren’t 11, 22, and 33 reduced?
They are the master numbers: when a calculation lands on one of them, tradition keeps it as is. They are not superior to the others; they are often lived as a more demanding version of 2, 4, and 6, to which they reduce.
What is an angel number?
A number made of the same repeated digit (111, 222, 1111) or of a pattern (1212), noticed on a license plate, a receipt, or a clock. Numerology adds it up and reduces it like the others: 222 gives 6, 1111 gives 4. Its page gives this calculation, then what tradition says about it.
Does a number always have the same meaning?
Its character stays the same, but what it describes changes with its position. A 7 as a life path number speaks of the road of a whole lifetime; as an Expression number, of how others perceive you; as a personal year, of the climate of a single year. That is why each number has a page for each position, in addition to its general page.
What is the difference between a digit and a number?
A digit is a written sign, from 0 to 9; a number is a quantity, written with one or more digits. Numerology adds up the digits of a date or the values of the letters of a name, then reduces the total to a single digit, except 11, 22, and 33, which remain two-digit numbers.
What is the most powerful number in numerology?
None: numerology does not rank numbers. The master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are considered more demanding, not superior, and each one is also lived as its reduction. A 1 is not better than a 9: each number has its strengths and pitfalls, and it is the whole set of your numbers that draws a profile.
What about 0?
No sum of letters gives 0, and neither does the life path number. The 0 appears only in a few positions, as a gap (challenge 0, bridge 0) or for a birth in 2000; elsewhere, it only serves to write numbers, as in 10 or 2000, and disappears as soon as you add.
Is the meaning of numbers the same everywhere?
No. The broad lines are found from one school to another, but the letter charts, the numbers that are kept, and the words used vary from one tradition to another. Versana follows the Pythagorean school, known as modern numerology, and says so on every page; the other schools have their own history page.
