The universal year is the climate shared by everyone for a given year: a single digit that sets the tone for the whole year.

Universal years from 2025 to 2030

What is the universal year?

Every calendar year has a number. It is called the universal year because it depends on no one: not on your birth date, not on your name. It is the background tint of the calendar year, the one you find in conversations, in the news, in the mood of offices and family meals. Each person then lives their own course within it, like several travelers on the same train line.

These numbers form a nine-year cycle. The 1 opens a period, the 9 closes it, and the round begins again. The 2017–2025 cycle is over: 2025, a 9 year, was its reckoning. The 2026–2034 cycle is under way, and 2026 is its starting point.

Here are the years covered in detail on this site: 2025 is a 9 year, 2026 a 1 year, 2027 an 11/2 year, 2028 a 3 year, 2029 a 4 year, and 2030 a 5 year. Each has its own page, with the general climate, its place in the cycle, love, work, and a month-by-month breakdown.

Read these pages as themes to explore, not as a program. They describe a mood and raise questions: what do I want to launch, consolidate, or leave behind this year?

Calculating the universal year, month, and day

  • The year

    The calculation is the simplest in numerology: add up the digits of the year, and if the sum still has two digits, repeat until you reach a single digit. For 2035: 2 + 0 + 3 + 5 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. A master number stops there: 2027 gives 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11, written 11/2, because it is mostly lived as a 2.

  • The month and the day

The universal month follows: you join the reduced year to the rank of the month, and reduce again. In October 2026: 1 + 10 = 11, which is 2. The universal day follows the same logic: you add the day to the universal month. For October 15, 2026: 2 + 15 = 17, then 1 + 7 = 8.

Universal year or personal year?

The universal year sets the scene shared by everyone; your personal year, which adds your birthday to the year, tells you the role you play in it. A universal year 2, turned toward agreement, is therefore not lived the same way in a personal year 1, which wants to launch a project, as in a personal year 8, busy with money decisions.

Frequently asked questions about the universal year

What universal year is 2026?

2026 is a universal year 1: 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 → 1. Its first keyword in numerology: initiative. It is the first year of the universal cycle 2026–2034. The page Numerology 2026 describes its climate and its twelve months.

How do you calculate the universal year?

You put the four digits of the year together, then reduce the sum to a single digit. For 2039, that gives 2 + 0 + 3 + 9 = 14, then 1 + 4 = 5. When a step lands on 11, 22, or 33, numerology keeps that number: 2027 is written 11, also read as a 2. The calculation uses no personal data.

What is a universal month?

The universal month is the number of the month within a universal year. You add the reduced year and the month number, then reduce to 1–9. In October 2026, a 1 year: 1 + 10 = 11, which is 2. In January 2026: 1 + 1 = 2 as well. It gives a seasonal nuance, shorter than that of the year. The page for each year lists all twelve months.

What is the difference between the universal year and the personal year?

The universal year depends only on the calendar year and applies to everyone, whereas the personal year adds two data points specific to each person, the day and month of birth, and also begins on January 1. For a birth on June 21, in 2028: 21 + 6 + 2028 = 2055, then 2 + 0 + 5 + 5 = 12, and 1 + 2 = 3, in a universal year 3 as well.

Is a master number year more important?

No. An 11 year, like 2027, is neither better nor more decisive than a 5 or 8 year. The master number adds a nuance: the 11 keeps the color of the 2, with more idealism and sensitivity. Many people mostly live the 2 version, which is more down to earth. Each year offers its themes, and none is worth more than another.
