Meaning of Change

Change speaks of transformation. The card indicates that a situation no longer resembles what it was and that another shape is emerging. It specifies neither the scale nor the nature of what is moving, but it reminds you that adapting is a skill you can practice.

Placed under Mercury, the planet of exchange, it links what exists to what may become. It suggests spotting what is already in motion, sorting what stays, and trying another way of proceeding.

No change is announced: it is something to welcome or to decide. Its reverse side is resistance, which prefers the familiar to what might serve.

Change in your life

In love

In matters of the heart, a bond evolves: new habits, another way of talking, a balance to renegotiate.

At work

In your trade, the deal is changing: method, team, or tools; better to prepare for it than to endure it.

Draw the Belline cards

One, three, or seven cards, and the dominant planet: the interpretation starts with what the reading means for you.

Change in a reading

In its position

A transformation runs through the line: look for what is already evolving and what is yours to decide.

Mercury series

Exchanges: ideas, trade, news, the flow of money.

Money, Intelligence, Theft-Loss, Ventures, Trade, News

The Belline cards help you look at a situation from another angle: they predict nothing, and the choice remains yours.

Its place in the deck

Eighteenth card, Change opens the Mercury series, the planet of exchange, which has seven cards in all. Money, Intelligence, and Theft-Loss accompany it there. Versana reads it as a transformation to welcome or to choose, never an announced event.

Reflecting on Change

A question

Which change, already at work around you, do you want to accompany rather than endure?

A gesture

Change one detail of your morning routine, then observe how you react to the slight shift.

How is it built?

Where the sources disagree

  • Tone of the cards: A ranking set by the site from the name of each card, with no old source: 21 supportive cards, 14 demanding, 18 neutral. It gives the tone of a reading, never an answer or a yes or no.
  • Dominant series: When one planet comes up more often than the others in a reading (at least two cards), its series colors the interpretation. A modern reading rule, described by several guides; cards outside the series are not part of the count.
  • Images of the cards: The drawings attributed to the mage Edmond (died 1881) are old, but the cards published since 1961 and the Mucem photographs are not under a free license. The site draws its own pictograms and reproduces no card.
