When it goes off balance
When the 6 goes off balance, other people’s gaze becomes your compass.
You spend an hour choosing an outfit for a simple dinner, you reread a message three times before sending it, you poll four loved ones before accepting a job. Choosing becomes painful: you let an apartment or a trip slip away by dint of hesitating, then decide on a whim. Jealousy creeps into the couple, with questions about a coworker or a phone being checked. Brand-name purchases serve as reassurance, diets and beauty treatments multiply out of fear of aging, and confidences received circulate a little too freely. Others, on the contrary, withdraw: no more outings, a daily life reduced to the trip between home and office, a raw sensitivity. These drifts often follow a romantic disappointment, public criticism, or a long period without recognition.
