When it goes off balance
When the 22 goes off course, freedom turns into escape.
You forget a signed appointment, you hand in work three weeks late without warning, you change your mind the day before a commitment made in front of witnesses. Money slips away: a paycheck spent in ten days, a loan opened for a trip, a risky investment suggested by a stranger. Gullibility exposes you to schemes and promises of quick gains. Some string together nights out, alcohol, or other excesses so as not to feel the emptiness, and have to start over from zero several times. Others live the opposite excess: a hated job kept out of fear of the unknown, rules you set for yourself and then endure, a life reduced to a narrow circle of obligations. These drifts often follow a constraint that lasted too long, a stifling work environment, or a relationship where you feel watched.
