The sky of September
Corn Moon in the almanacs, or Barley Moon in some European lists, except when it falls closest to the equinox: it then takes the name Harvest Moon.
Around that date, the ecliptic meets the evening horizon at a very shallow angle: in Paris, the Moon rises from one evening to the next only about a quarter of an hour later, against about fifty minutes on average over the year. The full moon culminates around 40 to 45°, in front of Pisces, while the Great Square of Pegasus rises in the east and the Summer Triangle slides toward the west.
