The sky of October
Hunter’s Moon when it follows the Harvest Moon; other lists speak of the Falling Leaves Moon.
The name would recall the autumn hunts, carried out by the light of still-bright evenings, once the fields were harvested. Higher than September’s, the October full moon culminates around 55° above Paris, in front of Pisces or Aries. Pegasus and Andromeda occupy the south in the evening; the Pleiades rise in the east early in the night, a small cloud of bluish stars that you see better by looking slightly to the side.
