The sky of June
Strawberry Moon: the name would refer to the short season when wild strawberries were picked; European lists speak instead of the Rose Moon or the Honey Moon.
Around the solstice, the Sun never drops more than 18° below the Paris horizon: astronomical night disappears, and a bluish glow lingers in the north until morning. The full moon then skims the southern horizon, barely 14° at its highest, in front of Sagittarius. In the east rise Vega, Deneb, and Altair, the three corners of the Summer Triangle, which will dominate the nights of the next two months.
