The sky of January
Wolf Moon: according to the North American almanacs that spread this name, wolves would be heard more often in the depths of winter, when food grows scarce.
In January, the night still lasts about fifteen hours in Paris and the full moon, opposite a very low Sun, rises high toward the south, above 60°. It is the best month for spotting the winter constellations around it: Orion and the three aligned stars of his belt, Taurus with the Pleiades cluster and the orange star Aldebaran, Castor and Pollux in Gemini, and brilliant Capella, almost at the zenith in the evening.
