The sky of May
Flower Moon for the almanacs, which also cite the Planting Moon: the month when vegetation bursts out and the planting was being finished.
The nights shorten quickly and the May full moon stays low above Paris, between 14 and 22° at its highest point, in the area of Libra and Scorpio. Antares, the red star of Scorpio, then points near the southeast horizon late in the evening. Higher up, Arcturus dominates the sky, while Corona Borealis, a small semicircle of stars, slips in between Boötes and Hercules.
