Karmic tail 6-17-11: Buried talent at a glance

A strength

Behind the restraint lies real potential: a gift for creating, teaching, repairing, or inspiring, which those around you often recognize before the person does. Their discretion lends substance to what they eventually offer. Each project carried to the end confirms the worth of their effort and lightens it.

Something to watch

Staying below your abilities is what lurks: telling yourself it is too early, that others will do better, that the effort is not worth it. Meanwhile, the years pass. Choose a modest project, set a date for it, show it to someone. An imperfect attempt is better than a promise forever put off.

What this karmic tail tells

In this life, it is as if the old excess of labor demanded repayment: the person often refuses to invest fully and to do what is expected of them, as if to keep their strength in reserve.

In this life

The laziness can go far: preparing a dish as simple as ravioli then seems beyond their means, and the idea of hiring someone for the housework comes up regularly, when it is not already done. Then come bursts of intense activity, when everything becomes possible: the house is cleaned from top to bottom and a mountain of chores disappears. A striking talent is given again, strong enough to be exercised and to make a living from. But most often, a more reassuring career, accounting or engineering for example, has already been chosen on the person’s behalf. One day, they pause and begin to search for themselves, with the feeling of being on the wrong track. Life then offers new temptations: a promotion, attractive career prospects. The drive may shift onto the children, enrolled in a host of activities and given every chance to progress, while the person lives plainly despite being comfortably off.

The lesson

According to the method, the first recommendation is to let the children breathe: they have a right to their own path and a light childhood. The time and energy freed up go back to personal development. Discovering your talent and letting it bloom is a vital necessity here. It means launching into what you have long wanted to do, even if the project seems senseless at first and its future unclear. Creating something new should not be frightening.

The script: Refusing possibilities

The person has rare abilities and immense potential, but lacks a driving force and a direction.

Life then sets up obstacles on the path to their fulfillment and tests them: do they stay faithful to their goals and to what matters?

The signals

  • Talents that cannot be put to use
  • Development held back by those around you
  • Complexes, low self-esteem
  • Surroundings that devalue you
  • Difficulty choosing a direction and a career
  • Good-student perfectionism
  • Fear of showing yourself and sharing your ideas
  • Fear of fame
  • Fear of failing
  • Failed attempts, then a calling abandoned
  • Passions mocked or ignored by parents
  • Unfinished separation from the mother, need for her opinion
  • Dull, unsatisfying work
  • Inspiration kept secret
  • Creativity denied
  • Inner voice ignored, intuition doubted
  • Decisions dictated by other people’s opinions
  • A life without purpose, or lived to please
  • Goals absent or vague
  • Lack of energy, drive, and persistence
  • Laziness, procrastination
  • Tasks always put off
  • Happiness seen as an omen of failure

The new strategy

The new strategy shifts energy from the children to yourself.

You lighten their schedule of activities to give them back a free childhood and their own path. The time recovered goes to your own development. You actively look for the talent you carry, then give it a real place in your week. You finally dare the activity that has attracted you for years, accepting that it may seem unreasonable and that the future is uncertain at the start. Creating something new becomes an openly chosen goal rather than a fear.

The steps

  • Reduce the activities imposed on the children and leave them free time
  • Set aside fixed hours each week for your development
  • List the wishes you have carried for years and choose one lead
  • Start this activity even if the future looks unclear
  • See a first new creation through to the end

In everyday life

A project has been sleeping in a drawer for a long time: a text, a training course, a creative activity.

At every free slot, another duty comes first. This weekend, block two hours in your week, with the same seriousness as a work meeting, and start small, without aiming for perfection. If children live with you, give them the same right to play: they learn by watching you.

A symbolic reading of the Destiny Matrix: food for thought about yourself, never a verdict or an established fact.

Frequently asked questions: karmic tail 6-17-11: Buried talent

How can I recognize my buried talent?

Observe what makes you lose track of time, what people often ask you for, what you do effortlessly while others struggle. Ask three loved ones what they can see you doing. The answers often overlap, and sketch a concrete starting point to begin this very week.

Why are children mentioned?

Because the lesson touches on how you pass things on: not loading the young with your expectations, letting them play, try, and get it wrong. It also concerns the child you once were. Allowing yourself play, slowness, and error relieves the young people around you, and yourself.

Is overwork involved?

The name tells rather the opposite today: after an excess of effort imagined in the past, you tend to hold your energy back. Balance lies between the two: commit fully to what matters, rest without guilt, and refuse efforts that serve no real desire, neither yours nor your loved ones’.
