The five numbers

Chapter 6 · The major stages of your life

Formative cycle 2: growing up listening

From birth to age 29, the 2 sets up a climate where relationships matter more than results. As a child, you pick up a room’s mood before a word is spoken, and you calm family tensions.

The limits

What the calculation says, what it does not say

The calculation is exact; reading it is a tradition, reported as it is. Here is where what your numbers can say stops.

What the calculation says

  • An exact number, which you can redo by hand: same rules, same result.
  • A reading grid: words to reflect on how you act, love and work.
  • Stable markers (the date, the birth name) and one marker that turns every year, the personal year.
  • What the numerology tradition associates with each number, reported as it is.

What it does not say

  • It predicts nothing: no event, no date, no encounter.
  • It decides nothing for you: a number describes a tone, your choices remain yours.
  • It replaces the advice of no professional, whatever the field.
  • It ranks no one: no number is worth more than another, not even a master number.
Step by step

How is it calculated?

To calculate your numerology step by step, the site follows the French school: add, then reduce to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33. Example: Claire Martin, born March 14, 1987.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions about the numerology calculation

The calculation rules, then reading the numbers and the report. A question left unanswered? The “How is it calculated?” panel, above, shows each step.

The calculation and its rules

How do I calculate my numerology for free?

With your date of birth, the first given name on your birth certificate and your birth surname. Each letter is worth a digit (A = 1, B = 2… I = 9, then J starts again at 1); add them up, then reduce to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33.

Which number do I calculate with the date of birth?

The date gives the life path, the main number, and, with the current year, the personal year. The letters of the name give the other three: the Expression, the Soul Urge and the Personality.

Should I use my birth name or the name I use today?

The birth name, the one on the birth certificate: this is the convention of the French school followed here. A name taken later is read separately and does not replace the birth calculation.

Can my life path or my numbers change?

The life path, drawn from the date, never changes. The Expression, the Soul Urge and the Personality are calculated on the birth name: a married name or a name in use can be read separately, without replacing the birth calculation. Only the personal year turns, every January 1. If two calculators show two different results, the gap comes from their method, not from a change.

Should I count all my first names?

By convention, only the first given name on the birth certificate counts here, as in the French school followed by the site. The English-speaking school adds up all the first names: the Expression, the Soul Urge and the Personality can then change, not the life path. The full report offers both readings, as you choose, in its options.

Life path and Expression: what is the difference?

The life path comes from the date of birth: it describes the thread of life, the experiences that come back, and never changes. The Expression comes from all the letters of the first name and birth surname: it describes the personality you show and the talents you put forward. The first says the road, the second the way to travel it; the report reads both together.

Can I have several master numbers?

Yes. Each number is calculated separately: a life path 11 and an Expression 22 can coexist in the same profile. In the example on this page, Claire Martin’s life path already gives 33. A master number is also read as its reduction (11 as 2, 22 as 4, 33 as 6); having several does not make a profile superior to others.

Life path 11 or 2: which one is right?

Both are read. If the digit-by-digit calculation goes through 11, 22 or 33, this master number is kept; it is also lived as its reduction (2, 4 or 6). Some calculators reduce everything and show 2: it is the same date, read without the master number.

Reading your numbers, and the report

Is free numerology reliable?

The calculation, yes: it follows fixed rules, which you can redo by hand, and two sites applying the same method find the same result. The interpretation is a reading grid: it predicts nothing and does not replace the advice of any professional.

What is the rarest life path?

With the site’s method, the 2: across all dates of birth from 1950 to 2010, it covers only 0.47% of them, because most of the dates that would lead to it go through 11, which is kept. Rare does not mean better: no number is worth more than another. The life path page shows the full distribution, number by number.

What is the difference between numerology and astrology?

Astrology starts from the position of the planets on the day, at the time and place of birth. Numerology only looks at digits: those of the date of birth and those given by the letters of the name. It needs neither the time nor the place.

Why is the full report free?

Versana is launching: the tools and the report are free during this period; in-depth versions and products will follow. Today, you only need your first name, your birth surname and your date, with no account or payment. You read it online, download it as a PDF booklet, and can delete it at any time.

What does the report contain beyond this calculation?

This calculation gives five numbers. The report adds some thirty more (life cycles, challenges, letter chart, missing numbers, periods, personal year and months) and links them in a continuous text, chapter by chapter.
