For twoTarot card combinationsYour card and the other person’s, read together.

How is the reading done?

The principle comes from the Belline oracle booklet, as the guides cite it: you draw as many cards as the first name has letters. The 53 cards are shuffled in your browser; each letter gets its own, in order. Accents, hyphens, and spaces do not count; œ and æ count as two letters.

The sources give no single rule of interpretation. Versana reads the cards in the order of the letters, then the whole: the card placed under the middle letter gives the sentence of meaning, and the series that comes up most often colors the portrait.

A longer variant, which draws for each letter as many cards as its numerology value, is not offered here. The first name is neither sent nor kept.

Where the sources disagree

  • First-name reading: The principle (one card per letter) is common to the sources; the layout and the reading vary, and the booklet reportedly says there is no rule of interpretation. Versana reads the cards in the order of the letters, with the middle card giving the meaning; first name of 2 to 15 letters, accents and hyphens ignored. A numerological variant (as many cards as the value of each letter) is not retained.

Frequently asked questions: first-name reading

Which first name should I enter?

The one of the person consulting, or of someone on your mind. Keep a single first name, from two to fifteen letters; accents, hyphens, and spaces do not count.

Why one card per letter?

It is the principle reported by guides to the Belline oracle: as many cards as letters. Each card is read with its letter, then the whole gives a portrait of the moment.

Does this reading describe someone’s personality?

No. It offers a view of a moment, to be taken as a support for reflection. It neither judges nor defines a person, and predicts nothing.

Is the first name saved?

No. The first name does not leave this page, is not kept, and requires no account. You can also draw for the first name of a loved one.
