Accepting a fifth request in one week, then resenting the people who made it.
Nicholas comes from the Greek Nikolaos, which joins nike, “victory”, and laos, “people”.
Saint Nicholas was a bishop of the 4th century in Anatolia who, according to legend, saved the daughters of a poor man; he is the patron saint of children, sailors and merchants, and of Greece and Russia. He also inspired Santa Claus, whose name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. The name has been used in England since the 12th century.

A Nicholas is typically the person who remembers the gift list, wraps the presents, offers a seat, volunteers for the charity shift and checks that no one was forgotten, then writes the notes of thanks afterwards. A name tied to a patron of children and sailors suits this protective generosity.
I, O and A, the vowels, make 16 and then 7: a thoughtful core, with a need for reading, silence and understanding. N, C, H, L and S make 20 and then 2, so his way of acting is cooperative; he listens, negotiates and prefers partnership to solo glory.
An N worth 5 gives the first meeting a lively, curious tone. His leading vowel, I, counts 9, so a surprise is met with openness and generosity, and nobody is left out.
Generosity, depth and cooperation make a gentle, wide-hearted profile. One name only, though; others bring other numbers, and they may shift the balance.
