Numerology and astrology at a glance

For you

This bridge brings together two distinct traditions: numerology, which reads the numbers of a date, and astrology, which reads the position of the stars, by a convention of the site.

A strength

A way to compare two symbolic views of the same birth date.

Something to watch

The pairing is a convention of the site: neither tradition requires it.

Correspondences

One planet per number

According to tradition, each number from 1 to 9 is paired with a planet. The site uses the series most cited by French numerologists: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Uranus, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Neptune, 8 Saturn, and 9 Mars. This series varies between authors, and some assign Saturn to the 4.

The sign and the life path number

The Sun sign and the life path number answer two questions. The first places the Sun in the zodiac at the moment of your birth; the second comes from an addition of digits, after reducing each part of the date. Two people of the same sign therefore often have different life path numbers, and vice versa. For example, a birth on April 21, 1990 gives a Sun in Taurus, whose traditional ruler is Venus, and a life path number 8, which the site’s convention links to Saturn.

Nothing requires the two readings to agree. When they contradict each other, you can see two nuances of the same person, or keep only the one that speaks to you. When they overlap, it is not proof: it is a coincidence of vocabulary.

As for the master numbers (11, 22, 33), they take the planet of their reduction. Not to be confused with sign rulerships, which follow a different scheme: Mars rules Aries, but it is 9 that is paired with it, not 1. This table is used in no calculation of the report or the chart.

Reading by area

Both practices, day to day

In love

Comparing a sign and a life path number can start a conversation: each person sees in it what they are looking for, and the difference between two readings becomes a subject for dialogue.

What binds two people comes from what they live together, not from two birth dates, and no table measures compatibility.

At work

A sign associated with initiative and a life path number tied to method can complement or hinder each other, depending on the context.

The two readings have value only if you test them against what you have lived, and they say nothing about future jobs or successes.

In daily life

Over the days, the two views serve as a mirror: a sign, a number, a planet as pretexts to ask yourself what matters.

They decide nothing, and each trait has its flip side: what reassures one day can confine the next.

What this bridge does not say

The two traditions have distinct origins: numerology claims Pythagoras, Western astrology comes from Mesopotamia and Hellenistic Greece. The link between a number and a planet is a convention of the site, not a fact. Neither one predicts your future, and neither has been validated by science. They serve as a symbolic language for reflection.

Numerology and astrology both start from your birth date, but they do not read it the same way. One reduces digits, the other measures the position of the Sun and the planets. Putting them side by side can help you see what each illuminates, without either one verifying the other.

This page deliberately stays cautious: the table of correspondences is a convention, the readings are avenues for reflection, and nothing here says what should come to pass.

Frequently asked questions: numerology and astrology

What is the link between numerology and astrology?

There is no demonstrated link. They are two traditions that start from the birth date and read it differently. Their pairing is a convention: the site associates a number with a planet, according to tradition, to allow a comparison.

Which planet corresponds to my life path number?

In the site’s convention: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Uranus, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Neptune, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars. Other authors choose differently, notably for the 4. This pairing is used in no calculation of your report.

Do the sign and the life path number say the same thing?

No. The sign comes from the position of the Sun, the life path number from an operation on the digits of the date. They can agree or diverge, and neither corrects the other. You can read them as two lights on the same date.

Do I have to choose between numerology and astrology?

No, they are two symbolic languages that do not compete. You can keep one, both, or neither. Just keep in mind that neither has been validated by science and that neither predicts the future.
