Sagittarius Sun, Leo rising: the meaning
Leo and Sagittarius share fire and answer each other in trine, an accord reputed to flow.
Leo is fixed, it shines and lasts; Sagittarius is mutable, it explores. Helios in the east, Zeus at the core: warmth and largesse, scepter and tablets of the law. Their warmth is plain to see: a round of drinks on them, a waiter complimented, an anecdote told in which they do not always get the best part.
The Sun lodges in the 5th house, that of creation, children, pleasures, and love affairs. This combination loves the stage, parties, games, art in all its forms. It may put together a theater troupe, write an adventure novel, organize school trips, raise its children by opening the world to them. Their joy in living is contagious, and their friends know they will show up to celebrate every victory.
The double fire does lead to excess, however. Leo wants to shine, Sagittarius sees big: the person may spend beyond their means, promise a sumptuous reception, commit to an outsized project. Their pride bears contradiction poorly. The Water-Bearer, in the west, would advocate stepping back; its representatives, independent, refuse to be dazzled. Their friends learn to love this excess, and to temper it.
