Scorpio Sun, Leo rising: the meaning
August and November size each other up at a right angle: two fixed signs, one burning, the other abyssal.
The east goes to Helios, the heart to Ares and his modern accomplice Pluto. From the very first meeting, the person makes an impression: carriage of the head, firm handshake, generous compliment, and a way of looking at people that gives the feeling of being assessed. One notices them, respects them, and is sometimes a little afraid of them.
The Sun hides at the nadir, in the 4th house: behind the public brilliance, what matters most plays out in the private sphere. This combination holds to its family, its home, its origins with a fierce intensity. It may build a family house, take over an inherited business, or defend a parent’s memory. Its authority is often exercised first over its own clan, which it protects and directs at once.
This right angle between two obstinacies has its rough edges. Leo does not want to lose face, Scorpio does not forgive: a family or professional conflict can last for years, each side camping on its position. The person badly tolerates being contradicted in public. Aquarius in the west would offer another perspective: independent, egalitarian partners who refuse submission and force them to compromise.
