Virgo Sun, Leo rising: the meaning
Midsummer’s Leo and the harvest’s Virgo follow each other in the zodiac.
For the Greeks, two adjacent signs ignore each other, and nothing indeed seems to bring together the fixed brilliance of fire and the mobile discretion of earth. The royal star holds the east; the messenger, the inner self. The first impression is solar, warm, almost theatrical; the person tells a good story, dresses with care, and readily takes the floor in meetings.
Then you discover the work behind the stage. What looked spontaneous was prepared: the presentation reviewed three times, the dress or suit chosen the day before, the birthday cake tested in secret. The 2nd house, which here holds the Sun, would sharpen the sense of fair prices, deserved pay, a balanced budget. This combination wants to earn its place and to feel useful.
The tension comes from this double gaze. Leo wants to be admired, Virgo rarely finds itself up to the mark: the person can shine in public and criticize themselves harshly in private, receive a compliment without believing it. Aquarius on the descendant would suggest independent, somewhat detached partners, who love them without applauding and help them judge themselves with more distance.
