Virgo Sun, Aries rising: the meaning
Nothing obviously connects the sign of the spring equinox to that of the harvest: a hundred and fifty degrees separate them, a quincunx in which Greek tradition saw no aspect at all.
A flame that starts, soil that adapts: element and tempo differ completely. Mars holds the horizon, Mercury the core. The pace is plain to see: a brisk stride, short sentences, sleeves already rolled up while the other person is still explaining the problem.
This Martian energy is put to work for a practical intelligence. The person likes to repair, improve, streamline: reorganizing a restaurant kitchen in a week, redoing the garage wiring, taking over a spreadsheet everyone had abandoned. With the Sun in the 6th house, the luminary would put daily labor and careful workmanship at the center; pride comes from a repaired object, rarely from a speech.
The quincunx is paid for in inner friction. Martian speed against Mercurian finish: you rush the job, then blame yourself for the flaws that the haste caused. Toward others, impatience takes the form of brief, efficient, hurtful criticism. Libra on the descendant would point to the counterweight: courteous partners, who remind you of the value of negotiation and of a compliment before the correction.
