Aquarius Sun, Aries rising: the meaning
The Aries of March and the Aquarius of February answer each other at sixty degrees: a sextile, an aspect the ancients judged favorable.
One is cardinal and burning, the other fixed and airy. Mars governs the horizon; Saturn and, for the moderns, Uranus govern the Sun sign. At an association meeting, this person is quickly recognized: they propose changing the agenda, suggest an app to organize everything, and volunteer before the discussion is over.
The Sun sits in the 11th house, which the Greeks called the “Good Spirit”: friendships, groups, hopes, patrons. For an Aquarius, already turned toward the collective, the coincidence is telling. A whole galaxy of contacts revolves around them: collectives set up in one evening, clubs founded on a whim, strangers turned accomplices. Their friendships are many, varied, often activist, and they draw most of their energy from them.
Martian fire and Aquarian air fan each other, though, to the point of burning. The person grows impatient with the slowness of institutions, catches fire for one cause and then moves on to the next, and provokes just to see what resists. Their frankness can ruffle a valuable ally. The scales of the setting sun would whisper diplomacy to them: hear the skeptics, break the road into stages, wait for the stragglers.
