Taurus Sun, Aquarius rising: the meaning
Taurus and Aquarius are both fixed, but one is yin earth, the other yang air.
Their square describes a tension between material security and independence of mind. With the Aquarius rising sign, Saturn takes charge of the chart, and Uranus shares it with him among the moderns. The person presents with a certain distance, clear-cut opinions, a personal style. You take them to be free of all ties.
The Sun in Taurus nonetheless reveals a deeply attached core: to home, to longtime friends, to habits. The combination often gives a person who defends progressive ideas while living traditionally, or who applies innovative methods to very concrete fields: organic farming, ecological housing, solidarity finance. They know how to make new ideas last.
The downside would be a double obstinacy. Two fixed signs in a square can produce formidable arm-wrestling matches, and the person defends their positions with a stiffness that surprises. They can also swing between the need for freedom and the need for security, unable to choose. The Leo descendant would push them to warm up their bonds, to say “I love you” without detour, and to accept the spotlight when it turns on them. Receiving affection for oneself, and not only for one’s ideas, takes this small effort.
