Leo Sun, Aquarius rising: the meaning
Aquarius looks at Leo from the other side of the circle: an opposition of two fixed signs, flame against breath.
Saturn, traditional ruler of Aquarius, governs the horizon, with the moderns adding Uranus; the Sun, the core. These two rulers were seen as opposites, one light, the other boundary. At first glance, the person seems free, likable, a little elusive; they talk about equality, technology, an association.
Leo then sits on the descendant, directly opposite: the Sun is discovered in relationship, through partners, associates, rivals. This combination is often defined in contact with another, whom it admires or fights. It likes to lead a collective, defend a cause, invent a new format, while leaving its personal signature on it.
The opposition between two fixed signs creates a see-saw. The person claims freedom and indifference to honors, but secretly suffers from not being noticed. They can be stubborn in their ideas and wounded in their pride at the same time. The challenge would be to acknowledge this need for warmth, without hiding it behind Aquarius’s distance, and to express it simply: daring to ask for a presence, rather than shrugging. Leo placed in the west is a reminder that a partner can become a precious mirror.
