Neptune in Scorpio: the meaning
Neptune entered Scorpio on Christmas Eve 1955, then crossed the border of Libra several times until August 1957.
It left the sign in January 1970, before one last return between May and November of the same year. People born during these fifteen years are today about fifty-six to seventy years old. The previous passage, from about 1792 to 1807, took place before the planet was even known.
This generation would readily be credited with a curiosity about what escapes the eye. Depth psychology, noir novels, esotericism, or investigations into family secrets would find an attentive audience among them. The ideal would not be gentleness but authenticity, even rough: they prefer a truth that disturbs to a politeness that hides. A family meal where someone finally dares to raise the subject carefully avoided for years would give an accurate picture of this tone.
The downside would be a fascination with excess, the idea that a passion is worth more than a quiet affection, or a mistrust that reads hidden intentions into a simple delay in answering. The area of the chart that Neptune occupies, and its aspects, would show on what terrain this quest for depth plays out. Lived well, it would form people able to stay present with others in moments of crisis, without looking away.
