Neptune in Gemini: the meaning
Neptune’s last passage through Gemini stretched from August 1887 to 1902, with several back-and-forths at both ends.
The youngest person of this generation would be more than one hundred twenty years old: this Neptune now appears only in the charts of ancestors or historical figures, and it interests genealogy far more than consultation. The next passage will begin around July 2051, back briefly into Taurus, then last until around 2066.
Astrologers would describe this placement as an imagination fed by words and connections. The context lends itself: in those years the telephone spread through cities, the first paid public screening of the Lumière brothers’ cinematograph took place in Paris at the end of 1895, and wireless telegraphy made its debut. Another astronomical fact often discussed: Neptune and Pluto joined in this sign around 1891–1892, a conjunction that returns only about every five centuries.
Its supposed downside: a language that blurs. A correspondence in which everyone reads what they hope for, a serial taken for a chronicle, a vague promise that no one dares ask to have clarified. Lived well, the same blur would become a fineness of listening: catching what a sentence implies without saying it, finding the word that calms a quarrel. For the generation of the 2050s, the reading remains a possible tone, with no calendar of events.
