Pluto in Scorpio: the meaning
Here the planet would be in its own sign, at least for modern astrology.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign, traditionally ruled by Mars and, since the 20th century, by Pluto. The planet entered it in November 1983, returned to Libra from May to August 1984, then stayed until January 1995, with one last back-and-forth between April and November of that year. It was moving fast in this period, since it was approaching its perihelion, the point where its distance from the Sun is shortest: its stay lasted only about twelve years.
Being in domicile would mean, for this reading, that Pluto expresses itself without a filter: passion, secrecy, crisis, rebirth. Astrologers link this generation to an era of collective revelations, of taboos reopened for debate, and of transformations of intimacy. This observation remains symbolic, and domicile adds nothing stronger to one person than to another born the same year. It colors an entire era; each person’s temperament is read elsewhere, in the fast planets and the angles.
The personal part would be read in the house occupied. In the 8th, already akin to Scorpio, shared assets and intimacy would be central; in the 1st, the intensity would be visible at first meeting; in the 11th, it would color friendships and collective commitments. The angles formed with the fast planets would show whether this force is expressed openly or stays underground.
