Jupiter opposition Neptune: the meaning
Jupiter and Neptune face each other about six and a half years after each conjunction.
The opposition of 2003, with Jupiter in Leo and Neptune in Aquarius, and that of 2015–2016, between Virgo and Pisces, accompanied two generations in this way. Shared by a multitude of births, it becomes an individual trait only through the two sectors of the chart it connects and the personal planets it meets. On its own, it describes mostly an era split between generous ideals and disillusionment.
Emphasized in a chart, this opposition would describe ideals often carried by others: inspiring teachers, idealistic friends, partners who promise a lot, causes championed by charismatic figures. The person learns to tell sincere inspiration from mirage, real generosity from manipulation. Over time, they gain a precious discernment and commit to ideals they have examined closely. They often become the person people consult before joining a movement.
The possible downside would be repeated disappointment: being swayed by promises that are too good to be true, following a guide who does not deserve it, giving with nothing in return. It falls to them to take on for themselves the share of ideal they entrusted to others, so as to stop handing it blindly to outside hands. Their generosity then becomes clear-eyed, and all the more effective.
