Jupiter opposition Pluto: the meaning
About six years after each conjunction, Jupiter and Pluto occupy opposite signs.
In 2001, Jupiter in Gemini faced Pluto in Sagittarius; in 2014, Jupiter in Cancer opposed Pluto in Capricorn. Those months of births share the opposition, and its individual reach depends on the two sectors of the chart it connects and the intimate planets it brings into play. On its own, it describes an era of power struggles between great institutions.
Emphasized in a chart, this opposition would describe encounters with powers: mighty institutions, influential personalities, partners with big ambitions. The person learns to defend their convictions in front of them, to negotiate, and not to be absorbed. They develop a fine reading of influence dynamics and a capacity to resist pressure. Their own ambitions take shape in contact with those of others, and they gradually discover what they really want to build.
The possible downside would be constantly measuring themselves against forces too big for them, or conversely giving way before anyone more powerful. It falls to them to take on the authority they lend to others, so as to exercise it with precision rather than endure it or fight it endlessly. They then become a respected interlocutor, able to speak with the powerful without losing themselves.
