Jupiter square Pluto: the meaning
Roughly three years after each conjunction, Jupiter and Pluto meet at a right angle, and again three years before the next meeting.
Between November 2016 and August 2017, Jupiter in Libra thus formed three exact squares with Pluto in Capricorn, and almost all children born in that interval carry it. This collective sharing means looking elsewhere for the personal color: in the sectors of the chart it occupies, and in the fast planets or angles it touches. On its own, it describes the intensity of an era.
When it is emphasized, this square would describe an intense, almost imperious ambition. The person wants to carry weight, to influence, to transform at depth. They sometimes clash with established powers, with institutions, with people defending their positions. These confrontations shape them: they learn strategy, tenacity, patience. They can accomplish considerable things when they channel this energy toward a just goal, and inspire others to follow.
The danger would be experiencing everything as a fight: wanting to control everything, wearing themselves out in endless rivalries, giving in to excess in money or ambition. Choosing their battles, keeping an ethical course, and remembering that the most lasting influence is often the most discreet, turn this tension into strength. With experience, this ambition often matures into a builder’s patience rather than a conqueror’s haste.
