Uranus square Pluto: the meaning
Between June 2012 and March 2015, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn crossed at a right angle seven times, a series of exact contacts of exceptional length.
This period coincided with the aftermath of the financial crisis, the Arab Spring, major protest movements, and rising climate concerns. The previous square, a waning one, dated from 1932–1934, between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Cancer, in the middle of the Great Depression. Children born during either of these windows almost all carry this aspect.
For one of them, this square carries weight only when it joins a personal planet or the Ascendant. It would then suggest a tension between the urge to break away and the need to transform deeply, an aptitude for living in an unstable world without getting lost in it. The children of 2012–2015 are growing up amid climate and digital emergencies; their relationship to change will probably be very different from their parents’. Those of 1932–1934 lived through the war as children, then the reconstruction, and many kept a striking capacity to adapt.
The downside would be a constant sense of urgency, the feeling that everything could tip over at any moment. When this square is relayed in a chart, finding anchoring points, concrete commitments, and lasting bonds helps turn this tension into a force for renewal rather than anxiety.
