Jupiter conjunction Pluto: the meaning
Jupiter meets Pluto again roughly every twelve to thirteen years.
These meetings took place in 1981–1982 in Libra, in December 1994 at the threshold of Sagittarius, in December 2007 at the end of that same sign, and then in 2020 in Capricorn, with three exact passes, in April, late June, and mid-November. Children born that year, the year of the pandemic, almost all carry it. It therefore describes first the climate of an era, often marked by economic or political upheaval, before it speaks of an individual.
When it falls on the Sun, the Moon, a fast planet, or the Ascendant, this conjunction would describe a deep ambition. The person wants influence, not out of vanity, but to transform what needs to be transformed. They can mobilize significant resources, persuade, and rally people around an ambitious project. They often have a flair for questions of money, power, and strategy. Their convictions are strong and they defend them with impressive tenacity, even when the wind turns.
The downside would be excess: seeking power for its own sake, believing the end justifies the means, wanting to convert others to their vision. They may also feel entrusted with a mission that wears them out. An ethical look at their ambitions, and a few kindly dissenters around them, help them keep a sense of measure. The house where the conjunction falls shows the area where this power asks to be exercised: money, knowledge, family, career.
