Moon conjunction Jupiter: the meaning
A table always too full on Sunday, an open door for friends passing through, a grandmother who hands out compliments and jam: Jupiter joined to the Moon gives this abundant warmth.
Once a month, the Moon catches up with the giant planet and feeds on it for a few hours. The sign of the meeting weighs heavily: in Cancer, the lunar sign where Jupiter is also exalted according to Ptolemy, the generosity would be maternal and protective; in Capricorn, where Jupiter is in fall, it would be more reserved, more concerned with rules.
The person needs emotional space. They get enthusiastic, rejoice loudly, and are moved by a landscape, a piece of music, an act of kindness. They readily believe in the best in others and trust them. Those around them find comfort and encouragement in their company. They like to pass on what they know, to tell stories, to teach, often informally. Travel, foreign cultures, and big questions of meaning attract and nourish them.
The downside is excess. Giving too much, promising too much, comforting yourself with too much food, trusting other people’s good intentions too much: Jupiter can inflate needs beyond reason. The person may also come across as a little preachy, convinced they know better than anyone how they should live. Learning to measure your commitments and to let each person find their own path makes this generosity lighter.
