Saturn opposition Neptune: the meaning
Between August 2006 and the summer of 2007, Saturn in Leo faced Neptune in Aquarius three times.
The previous opposition, in 1971–1972, placed Saturn in Gemini and Neptune in Sagittarius. These periods stamp their mark on an entire generation; for a child born in 2007, the opposition only stands out if it meets their intimate planets or their angles. On its own, it describes a time torn between the desire for security and a thirst for the ideal.
Emphasized in a chart, this opposition would describe a swing between realism and ideal, often lived through other people. The person meets realists who bring them back down to earth and dreamers who carry them far away; a cautious parent and a utopian friend, a rigid employer and a generous cause. They learn to translate for one side to the other, and often become a valuable interpreter between worlds that do not understand each other.
The possible downside would be handing one of the two attitudes over to others: seeing themselves as the dreamer among overly serious people, or as the reasonable one among overly idealistic loved ones. They gain by recognizing both voices within themselves, so they can decide consciously rather than by reaction. This opposition then becomes a source of rare discernment, and a capacity to bring together people whom everything seemed to separate.
