Saturn opposition Uranus: the meaning
From November 2008 to July 2010, Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces faced each other five times, while the financial crisis shook banks and governments.
The previous opposition, in 1965–1966, had placed the two planets in the same signs, but reversed. Children born in those windows almost all carry it; its personal reach is read in the two sectors it puts under tension and in the intimate planets it crosses. On its own, it speaks mainly of the climate of an era split between fear and a desire for change.
When it touches a personal point, this opposition would express the need to reconcile two poles: order and freedom, tradition and change. The person often meets people who embody one or the other: a rigid parent and a rebellious friend, a frozen institution and a revolutionary project. They learn to get these two worlds talking, to translate the worries of some and the impulses of others, and often become a valuable mediator in groups.
The possible downside would be projection: attributing to others the conservatism or the rebellion one refuses to see in oneself, and clashing endlessly with those who embody it. They make progress by discovering that they carry both tendencies, and that they can make them work together. This opposition then becomes a source of balance rather than of being torn apart.
