The 1st decan of Scorpio: the meaning
As at the start of Aries, both systems name Mars.
In the Chaldean order, it follows Jupiter, ruler of the end of Libra; in the triplicities, the first decan belongs to Scorpio itself and to its traditional master. Modern astrologers, who also give Pluto to the sign, would see there a double intensity, that of action and that of transformation.
One would describe a person who commits totally: to a friendship, a line of research, an endurance sport, a cause. They go all the way, stopping for neither obstacles nor fatigue. They observe before acting, then act with a determination that impresses. Difficult subjects, money, jealousy, unspoken family matters, do not frighten them; they would rather look an unpleasant truth in the face than live in illusion.
The downside would be all or nothing. A disappointment might lead to a clean break, with no explanation and no way back. Once distrust sets in, it would be hard to dispel. This third would do well to leave a door ajar, even after a serious quarrel, to admit half-measures when they protect a precious bond, and to voice its anger before it turns into permanent silence. A stormy explanation is often worth more than a door closed forever.
