Lilith in a birth chart
Each month, the Moon moves away from us up to a maximum, the apogee, then comes closer: its path is not a perfect circle.
The Black Moon is the direction of this apogee, calculated as a mean: a point without light, whose full round lasts about eight years and ten months. The site uses the mean Black Moon, the most widespread. Other versions exist (true or “osculating” Lilith), and they may fall in a different sign. Before comparing two charts, it is therefore best to check which one each program displays: the difference explains many surprises.
The name Lilith comes from a figure of medieval Jewish tradition, presented in the Alphabet of Ben Sira as Adam’s first companion, who left rather than submit. Modern astrology drew its interpretation from this: uncompromising stances, nonconforming desires, suppressed anger, the demand for the absolute. In the 7th house, this would be a refusal of unequal relationships; in Taurus, a radical relationship to pleasures and possessions.
This point does not belong to classical astrology and its weight varies a great deal among practitioners: some neglect it, others make it a key. It is best read with caution, as a question posed rather than a sentence. It points to no fault, only a zone of freedom to tame: a place where you say no louder than elsewhere, and where this refusal deserves to be understood before it is corrected or claimed.
