The Black Moon, which is only a coordinate drawn from the Moon’s ellipse, would point there, according to its interpreters, to a complex relationship with inheritance. The person may love their family and refuse its unspoken rules: the division of roles, the forbidden subjects, the profession that was expected of them, the way Sunday guests were received.
This refusal often takes the form of a departure, geographic or inner. You see it in someone who settles far from their home region, who furnishes their home as the opposite of their childhood one, who starts a family on different principles. The home then becomes a place of freedom, a chosen refuge, protected from intrusion. Hosting at home would never be trivial: the door opens to those who respect the rules of the place.
The downside would lie in rupture. By rejecting the inheritance wholesale, one may deprive oneself of what it held that was precious, or hold toward relatives a resentment that prevents any reconciliation. Lilith in the 10th houseModern interpretations see an intense and sometimes conflicted relationship with the family of origin and the home. The right to choose your roots and your home would remain non-negotiable. These are recent readings, applied to a mathematical point tied to the Moon’s motion, whose use remains debated.
Nothing allows us to claim that. A chart does not tell the facts of a childhood, and the interpretation of Lilith is itself debated. Interpreters mainly pick out a particular sensitivity to family rules and a need to question them. Many people with this placement have excellent relationships with their relatives.
Cancer, the natural sign of the 4th house, evokes the same themes of home and belonging. But Lilith in Cancer concerns a small generation as a whole, while the 4th house depends on the time of birth and concerns only some of the people born on the same day. The house therefore places the trait in a more personal way.
