Neptune in the 4th house: the meaning
At the very bottom of the wheel, the fourth house gathers the home, the parents, the lineage, and what serves as support.
Neptune would set up a home lived in the mode of dreams. You would look for a house that feels like a refuge, near the water, in the countryside, or simply filled with books, plants, and music. The place would matter less for its value than for the atmosphere it offers.
The origins themselves might be idealized or wrapped in haze: an absent parent about whom little is known, a family history told in several ways, an ancestor whose legend outgrows the facts. Astrologers would also see a great sensitivity to the family atmosphere: as a child, you would have sensed the adults’ tensions before they were spoken. This sensitive memory would sometimes become a source of inspiration. A yellowed photo found in a drawer would be enough to feed hours of reverie about the people in it.
The downside would be a persistent nostalgia, or a home where boundaries are missing: everyone comes and goes, roles blur, bills pile up. You might also move often, in search of a perfect place that does not exist. Putting the family history into words, consulting archives, and setting a few simple rules at home would help. The Moon, through its contacts with Neptune, would refine this reading, as would the sign occupied.
