The 3rd decan of Aquarius: the meaning

After Mercury, the Chaldean series arrives at the Moon, which thus receives the last degrees of Aquarius.

The triplicities match this decan with Libra, the air of autumn, and with Venus. The two female rulers would soften a sign often described as distant: the Moon brings sensitivity, Venus a sense of relationship and harmony.

In its lunar form, this last third of Aquarius would look after the group’s well-being: she notices that a member of the association is withdrawing and goes to talk to them, commits to causes touching daily life, housing, mutual aid between neighbors, welcoming newcomers. In the Venusian version, she would rather be a mediator, able to get a bold proposal adopted in a meeting through discussion, humor, and charm.

The Moon might make a person too permeable to collective moods; Venus, push toward avoiding confrontation to the point of giving up on defending a just position. This end of Aquarius would do well to keep the firmness of its convictions while retaining the delicacy that makes it so convincing. A new idea often needs a little noise to be heard, and a sensitive voice to be accepted. This decan could be precisely that voice, as long as it does not fall silent at the decisive moment.

The 3rd decan of Aquarius: tradition

What tradition says

Neither the Moon nor Venus finds dignity in Aquarius; both are welcomed there by Saturn, the sign’s traditional master, hence, for the ancients, a more reserved affectivity than elsewhere.

How is it calculated?

The faces give Moon; the triplicities give Libra and its ruler, Venus.

Frequently asked questions about the 3rd decan of Aquarius

The Moon or Venus: who rules the 3rd decan of Aquarius?

The Moon for the faces, which have it come after the Mercury of the second decan; Venus for the triplicities, through Libra. These two female rulers would steer Aquarius’s idealism toward people and relationships, one through sensitivity, the other through diplomacy and a taste for fairness.

Is the 3rd decan of Aquarius less distant?

That is what tradition suggests: the Moon and Venus would give this last third a warmth that is attributed less to the first two. The portrait of the cold, cerebral Aquarius is, besides, a cliché that the rest of the chart often contradicts. The natal Moon and Venus say much more about how a person loves.

Is a mid-February birth Aquarius or Pisces?

As long as the Sun has not joined Pisces, in the second half of February, the birth belongs to the last decan of Aquarius. On the day of the passage, the time decides. The moment varies by year, notably around leap years; the site calculates it to the minute and takes your place of birth into account.
