What does the letter A mean?
The number 1 puts initiative here, the urge to take a first step without waiting to be invited.
At the head of the alphabet, A equals 1: its rank and its value coincide, and no other letter starts something as clearly. A is also a vowel, so it feeds the Soul Urge number: what it carries has more to do with motivations than with appearance.
It belongs to the mental plane, along with G, H, J, L, N, and P: action goes through an idea, a plan, a sentence said before acting. A person with many A’s in their name likes to announce what they are going to do, then do it. Its shape recalls a point or a roof, a peak toward which two lines converge, and ancient alphabets made it an upside-down ox head. Its sound is that of the mouth wide open. Saying A takes little effort, and you don’t think about it: it is the sound you let out when stretching or in front of a beautiful landscape.
