Sun in the 11th house: the meaning
Between sunrise and noon, the Sun climbs toward the Midheaven, passing first through the 12th house, then the 11th, generally during the morning.
This succedent sector, in resonance with Aquarius, is the one the ancients called the “Good Daimon,” the place of joy for Jupiter. It describes friends, protectors, groups, associations, hopes, and plans for the future. The chart, diurnal, puts the Sun on the right side of the sect.
This placement shows up in someone who runs the parent-teacher association, starts a hiking club, brings friends together around a community garden project. Such a person needs to belong to a group that shares their values and to work for something larger than themselves. Their friendships often play a decisive role in their path, by opening doors or supporting their choices. Their radiance is unifying: people readily entrust them with coordination, because they know how to give each member the feeling of counting.
The flip side of this openness is dilution. With so many shared projects, personal wishes move into the background, and the person may find it hard to assert themselves alone. Idealism can also run up against the reality of groups, with their conflicts. The 5th house, which faces it, claims its share: creating for yourself, taking pleasure without sharing it with everyone.
