8th house in Scorpio: the meaning
A tacit pact between two friends since adolescence, a company bought on the brink and put back on its feet, a confidence kept for twenty years and never betrayed: the 8th house in Scorpio lives deep commitments as alliances.
You do nothing halfway. You give a lot, expect as much, and sense at once when something rings false. Intimacy would be intense, exclusive, charged with a loyalty that does not easily forgive betrayal. A facade is never enough for you: you want to know what lies behind it, in people as in institutions, and you are never satisfied with a superficial explanation.
Scorpio belongs to Mars, and since 1930 modern authors have associated Pluto with it. Here, the 8th house is in its natural sign: its themes, sharing, desire, transformation, would be expressed with particular force. The house of Mars shows where this energy concentrates: in the 2nd house, in the management of your resources; in the 10th, in responsibilities where you must make the call. The Moon, in its fall in this sign according to Ptolemy, would make emotions harder to soothe. Parisians with this placement have an Aries or Pisces rising sign, in equal measure.
The pitfall would be control. Monitoring the other person’s accounts, hiding your own, testing their fidelity through silences: suspicion sets in. Opposite, the Taurus of the 2nd house promises relief: stable resources, simple pleasures, a security that does not depend on the other person’s gaze.
