Aries Sun, Capricorn rising: the meaning
Aries, cardinal fire, and Capricorn, cardinal earth, share a taste for initiative but not a temperament.
Their square describes a productive tension. With the Capricorn rising sign, Saturn becomes ruler of the chart: the person presents themselves with restraint, chooses their words, and observes the hierarchy of a place before taking a position in it. People often think them older than they are, and readily rely on their seriousness.
The Sun in Aries, for its part, does not wait: it supplies the energy, the combativeness, the wish to succeed fast. The Capricorn rising sign adds strategy and endurance. The mix produces a formidable ambition: the person who sets an ambitious professional goal at twenty-five and reaches it at thirty-five, step by step, never losing sight of the summit. They readily take on heavy responsibilities, chairing an association or running a workshop, and hold on when others let go.
The downside would be harshness. Aries’ impatience, thwarted by the rising sign’s caution, can turn against the self: self-criticism, refusal to rest, a constant feeling of being behind one’s own plans. With others, high standards can become severity. The Cancer descendant would recall the importance of tenderness, home, ties that are not measured in results, and a right to weakness.
