The Moon in Cancer: the meaning
In its own domicile, the Moon would express itself without a filter: what touches would really touch, and for a long time.
Cancer, a cardinal water sign, would give a sensitivity that reacts to the atmosphere before words. A curt remark at breakfast could color the whole day. You would need a refuge, a place or people with whom to lower your guard.
This Moon would make you very attentive to others. A great-aunt’s birthday is never forgotten, soup is ready when someone has a cold, photos and letters are kept in a box. This care for others would also be a way of reassuring yourself. The past matters: childhood memories, family recipes, and the places where you grew up feed your inner balance. In a group, you spontaneously create a homey atmosphere: a blanket on the office couch, a cake brought on Monday, attention to the newcomer who doesn’t yet know anyone.
The downside would be touchiness and withdrawal. When hurt, the lunar Cancer would close up without explanation, like the crab under its shell, and wait for the other person to understand alone. Moods would follow the ups and downs of those around. Saying what hurts at the moment it happens, rather than brooding over it, and accepting that loved ones cannot guess everything, would make relationships lighter for everyone.
