Venus conjunction Saturn: the meaning
A person who met their spouse in high school and is celebrating forty years of marriage, a cabinetmaker who prefers one perfect piece of furniture to ten quick ones, a shy friend who takes two years to confide but stays loyal for a lifetime: Venus joined to Saturn gives this affection that lasts.
Saturn moves slowly; Venus catches up with it about once a year. In Libra, where Venus is at home and Saturn exalted, the conjunction would be particularly harmonious; in Capricorn, sober and loyal; in Aries, where Saturn is in its fall and Venus in exile, more jarring.
The person loves seriously. They do not give their affection lightly and wait to see it tested before committing. Once bound, they are remarkably faithful. Their taste is sober, classic: they prefer noble materials, objects that last, beauty that time gives a patina to. In art, form and structure matter a great deal to them, along with an artisan’s patience in reaching the quality they aim for.
The downside is restraint. Saying what they feel costs them; they fear being rejected and feeling less desirable than others. In youth, romantic relationships may have come late, been difficult, or been marked by a loneliness lived with gravity. Astrologers observe that this conjunction often blossoms with age: the person discovers that their constancy is precious, and gradually allows themselves to receive as much as they give.
