Venus conjunction Neptune: the meaning
A pianist who cries while playing Chopin, a night nurse who holds the hands of strangers, a lover who waits years for someone out of reach while writing poems she will never send: Venus stuck to Neptune gives this boundless tenderness.
Neptune moves so slowly that Venus catches up with it almost every year. From 2012 to 2026, the meeting mostly took place in Pisces, the sign of Venus’s exaltation and Neptune’s modern domicile, a configuration that recent tradition considers especially inspired.
The person loves in the mode of the dream. They sense in the loved one what that person could become, their hidden beauty, their share of light. Their compassion is immense: they understand the suffering of others and want to soothe it. Their aesthetic sensitivity is rare; music, painting, dance, film, and the sea carry them away. They often have a talent for creating beauty, atmospheres, and images that make people dream. Their charm is soft, elusive, almost unreal.
The downside is illusion. They may fall in love with an image, a promise, a voice, and refuse for a long time to see the real person. They may devote themselves to people in distress whom they believe they can save, to the point of forgetting themselves. Disappointments are in proportion to the dreams. Astrologers advise keeping one foot in reality: judging by actions more than by declarations, and reserving part of the ideal for art or commitment, where it finds a safe place to live.
