Challenge number 6: the meaning
It concerns commitment to others, those of the household as well as the circle of friends, and the place duty takes in your life.
A difference of six units produces challenge 6: a 16th or 25th of January, for example, or a day that reduces to 2 set against a year that reduces to 8.
The most frequent form is overload. You become the person who organizes the parties, watches other people’s kids, listens to confidences, smooths over conflicts. Each favor seems natural, and together they end up filling all the space. Sometimes a domestic perfectionism is added: the house, the meal, the gift must be flawless. The opposite form is rarer but real: a wariness of commitments, for fear of being overrun by everyone’s expectations.
In youth, as a first challenge, it is often lived in a family where you took on an adult role early: the role of older brother or sister, a parent’s listening ear, the support of a younger sibling. After fifty, it returns with the place you hold with aging parents, grandchildren, or an association. In the main position, it runs through your whole life: the question of what you owe others, and what you owe yourself, stays open.
This challenge does not ask you to love less. It asks you to love differently: leaving each person their share, and keeping yours.
