South Node in the 7th house: the meaning
The 7th house, an angular house, faces the ascendant: it represents the partner, the couple, business associates, contracts, and more broadly the other as a mirror.
A South Node here would describe an old familiarity with relationship. The person instinctively senses what the other party is thinking, knows how to draft an acceptable compromise, and can soothe an unhappy associate. They often feel more at ease as a pair than alone, and their adaptability makes them a valued support, at home as in a board meeting.
The downside is discreet. By constantly adjusting, you can lose the thread of your own wants: choosing vacations to suit the other person’s tastes, giving up a personal project because it does not fit the couple’s, going from one relationship to the next so as never to be alone. Decisions are made by consulting, then consulting again. People also sometimes blame the other for what they did not dare to choose themselves. There is no weakness of character in this; just the pull of the known, that of the 7th house.
The North Node in the 1st house, opposite, would point to the direction to develop: self-assertion, personal initiative, the courage to present yourself as you are. Traveling alone, launching a project without a partner, defending a personal opinion at a dinner: these are the learning grounds. The relational talent already acquired remains precious; it gains by resting on a more secure identity.
